Terms Used In Utah Code 13-38a-102

  • Financial transaction card: includes :
              (1)(b)(i) a credit card;
              (1)(b)(ii) a credit plate;
              (1)(b)(iii) a bank services card;
              (1)(b)(iv) a banking card;
              (1)(b)(v) a check guarantee card;
              (1)(b)(vi) a debit card;
              (1)(b)(vii) a telephone credit card; and
              (1)(b)(viii) a device for access as defined in Section 7-16a-102. See Utah Code 13-38a-102
  • Person: means :
         (24)(a) an individual;
         (24)(b) an association;
         (24)(c) an institution;
         (24)(d) a corporation;
         (24)(e) a company;
         (24)(f) a trust;
         (24)(g) a limited liability company;
         (24)(h) a partnership;
         (24)(i) a political subdivision;
         (24)(j) a government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
         (24)(k) any other organization or entity. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
     (1)(a) “Financial transaction card” means any card, code, or other means of access to a person‘s account issued to a person that allows the person to obtain, purchase, or receive any of the following:

          (1)(a)(i) goods;
          (1)(a)(ii) services;
          (1)(a)(iii) money; or
          (1)(a)(iv) anything else of value.
     (1)(b) “Financial transaction card” includes:

          (1)(b)(i) a credit card;
          (1)(b)(ii) a credit plate;
          (1)(b)(iii) a bank services card;
          (1)(b)(iv) a banking card;
          (1)(b)(v) a check guarantee card;
          (1)(b)(vi) a debit card;
          (1)(b)(vii) a telephone credit card; and
          (1)(b)(viii) a device for access as defined in Section 7-16a-102.
(2) “Receipt” means any document related to the transaction of business provided to a person that uses a financial transaction card.
