Terms Used In Utah Code 63C-28-101
- Commission: means the Ethnic Studies Commission created in Section 63C-28-201. See Utah Code 63C-28-101
- Ethnic studies: means the same as that term is defined in Section Utah Code 63C-28-101
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State board: means the State Board of Education. See Utah Code 63C-28-101
(2) “Core standards for Utah public schools” or “core standards” means the standards the state board establishes as described in Section 53E-4-202.
(3) “Education entity” means:
(3)(a) the Utah Board of Higher Education;
(3)(b) an institution of higher education, as that term is defined in Section 53B-3-102;
(3)(c) the state board;
(3)(d) a local school board;
(3)(e) a charter school governing board;
(3)(f) a school district;
(3)(g) a district school;
(3)(h) a charter school; or
(3)(i) the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.
(4) “Ethnic studies” means the same as that term is defined in Section 53E-4-204.1.
(5) “State board” means the State Board of Education.
(6) “Utahns of diverse ethnicities” means the same as that term is defined in Section 53E-4-204.1.
