Terms Used In Utah Code 80-2-907

  • Protective custody: means the shelter of a child by the Division of Child and Family Services from the time the child is removed from the home until the earlier of:
         (66)(a) the day on which the shelter hearing is held under Section 80-3-301; or
         (66)(b) the day on which the child is returned home. See Utah Code 80-1-102
  • State: means :
         (1)(a) a state of the United States;
         (1)(b) the District of Columbia;
         (1)(c) the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico;
         (1)(d) the Virgin Islands;
         (1)(e) Guam;
         (1)(f) the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; or
         (1)(g) a territory or possession administered by the United States. See Utah Code 80-2-901

     Requirements for visitation, inspection, or supervision of children, homes, institutions, or other agencies in another party state which may apply under this chapter or Chapter 2a, Removal and Protective Custody of a Child, shall be deemed to be met if performed under an agreement entered into by appropriate officers or agencies of this state, or a subdivision thereof, as contemplated by Paragraph (2) of Article V of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.
